Snowmobile Cover Use, Cleaning, and Storage
Using the Cover for Transport
If you are planning to use your snowmobile cover on a trailer or open vehicle, make sure all the straps and hooks are connected and tightened before getting on the highway. High speed travel can tear at a loose cover. Secure the ends of the straps to keep them from whipping in the wind.
After you drive a few miles, stop and check the snowmobile cover and straps again. Recheck the straps every time you stop for gas or food.
Cleaning the Cover
The DuraShield snowmobile cover is specially treated with UV and weather resistant coatings, which require special care for cleaning. Do not use soap or harsh detergents when cleaning the cover. Use a soft brush and lukewarm water to clean the snowmobile cover. You can wash the cover in a washing machine with COLD water and no soap.
Line dry the cover before putting it away for storage. You can also dry it in the drier on the delicate or air only setting.
Storing the Cover
The DuraShield snowmobile cover comes with a storage bag attached to the rear of the cover. Because the bag is attached to your cover, it means you won’t ever lose your storage bag.
Make sure the snowmobile cover is completely dry and clean before folding it for storage. Mold and mildew thrive on damp, muddy fabric.
