Boat Cover FAQs

How durable are DuraShield Boat Covers?
Our trailerable boat covers are made from heavy duty, tight weave polyester, made to withstand the forces of nature and the stress of highway travel. Our boat covers come with a 5 year warranty, so you have the assurance that if anything does go wrong with your cover during normal use, we will replace your cover for free.

Will it cover my outboard motor?
The DuraShield boat cover is not designed to protect your outboard motor; however we do sell a separate Trailerable Boat Motor Cover for 2-25 hp outboard motors.

How do I secure my cover for towing my boat on a trailer?
Tie-down straps are provided with your DuraShield boat cover. Secure the straps over the cover and underneath the boat to secure the cover for trailering. Use all of the straps provided for the best protection.

How can I prevent mold and mildew from growing on my boat cover?
Keep the cover clean. Avoid letting water, snow, dirt, and other materials accumulate on top of the cover. Do not roll or fold the boat cover for storage unless it is completely dry. Also, do not cover the boat cover with a plastic tarp or other material, as this will compromise the breathability of the cover.

How do I measure my boat to find the right size cover?
Measure the center length from bow to stern. Do not measure up and over windshields. Then measure the beam width from side to side at the widest part of the boat.

Will the boat cover fit over my windshield?
Yes. Our boat covers are designed to fit over the standard windshield on most boats.

Will the boat cover fit over my cabin or center console?
No. Our boat covers are designed for V-hull, fish/ski, inboard/outboard boats, and other similar boats. The cover will not provide proper protection for cabin or center console boats.

How to Clean a Golf Cart Cover

Clean your golf cart cover for the best protection.

Clean your golf cart cover for the best protection.

Your golf cart cover requires very little maintenance. However, there may be times when it needs to be washed. A dirty cover may not protect your golf cart as well as a clean cover.

a

The first step in keeping your cover clean is to brush off any loose dirt, leaves, branches, and other debris. The more debris that accumulates on top of your golf cart cover, the less protection the cover will be able to provide.

The second step in keeping your golf cart cover clean is to rinse it off with a garden hose. You can either hang the cover up on a clothesline or just wash the cover while it is still on the golf cart. Hose the cover down thoroughly. Use a soft brush to remove any remaining debris, as necessary.

Once the cover is clean, let it air dry completely. Hang it up on the clothesline or allow it to dry while still on the golf cart. Do not fold or roll the cover for storage until the cover is completely dry.

Motorcycle Cover Size | How To Measure A Motorcycle

Choosing the right size motorcycle cover is important if you want to fully protect your bike from the elements. Follow these steps to make sure the cover you buy is the right size for your bike.

  1. Check the Motorcycle Cover Sizing Chart

The bottom of the motorcycle cover should reach within a few inches of the ground.

The bottom of the motorcycle cover should reach within a few inches of the ground.

Use the motorcycle cover sizing chart as a beginning point to determine which size cover you need. Remember that the suggestions on the sizing chart are just that—suggestions. Even when a cover sizing chart is available, it’s a good idea to double check the dimensions of your bike before purchasing a motorcycle cover.

    a

Aftermarket accessories and modifications can change the dimensions more than you realize. If your bike has saddle bags, fairings, a backrest, sissy bar and/or a windshield, you will most likely need a larger cover. Make sure you get a motorcycle cover with the right fit to provide the best protection possible.

  2. Measure Your Motorcycle

The cover length, width, and height are stated on the product page for all DuraShield motorcycle covers. For example, the DuraShield Lined Motorcycle Cover in X-Large is 104″ long x 41″ wide x 49″ high. Make sure your bike does not exceed these dimensions, or the cover will be too snug.

  3. Err on the Larger Side

Your motorcycle size may not meet the exact dimensions stated for the cover. If not, just make sure you choose a cover that is slightly larger than your motorcycle (rather than slightly smaller). It’s better to choose a cover that’s a little on the baggy side (but still fits) than a cover that’s too small to cover your bike properly. If you’re afraid the cover might blow away, you can always secure the cover using the integrated grommets.

  4. Get the Right Fit

The bottom of the motorcycle cover should reach within a few inches of the ground. It does not need to touch the ground to fully protect your motorcycle. The extra few inches of clearance will promote air flow underneath the cover.

If you’re still not sure which size cover is right for you or if you have a custom bike, don’t hesitate to call the customer service line to find the right motorcycle cover for your needs.
